Hi this is Sarah McLellan in New York City.
We are at June Perotte’s Dance Studio. And on behalf of Expert Village, today, I’m going
to teach you some advanced tap moves. Follow me. To make turns a little bit more interesting,
it’s nice to add like a little combination with you feet as you’re turning. So this one’s
going to be pretty simple. We’re going to do flap, heel, toe, heel, step, back down.
So, flap, heel, toe, heel, step, slap, heel drop. And as you start the turn, the flap,
heel is what kind of brings you around. And then the step, slap, turn heel is what turns
you the other way. So let’s try that. Watch my feet. Okay, this is the foot work. Flap,
heel, toe, heel, step, slap, down. So, the flap is what’s bringing you around. And then,
as you’re coming back in your turn, it?s the step. So let’s try it turning. Okay, let’s
go. So, make them nice and fast. Nice and crisp. When you turn them, your turns are
actually slower than how your feet are moving. So it creates kind of a little bit of an illusion
and it makes it look really interesting to the audience. So practice those ones.
