Daffodil Day 2019 – Boots Ireland – Ann Mullarkey

It’s hi, I’m Ann and I work for boots in Westport And we’ve been partnered with the Irish Cancer Society now for the last six to seven years in that time our Myself my team and westport have been part of raising over €100,000 for the Irish Cancer Society night nursing service All the boot stores in Ireland all the money they raise goes towards the night nursing service So the night nurses are the people that go into your home when your loved one is passing away and the solace and the care that the night nurses provide to those people. It’s just second to none and we’ve had first-hand experience of it in my own home Where my mom was passing away and the night nurses came in and it was just absolutely fantastic when they come in the door They just took over and we could relax just a little bit, but it was still, it wasn’t easy So the Irish Cancer Society relies mainly on fundraising by companies like ourselves And without the support and the generosity of the public and the donations you make, the fundraising that we do we couldn’t the Irish Cancer Society couldn’t provide these services in our communities and that is why we at Boots continue to fundraise and to create various events in our communities we create fashion shows, cake sales, bake sales anything just to raise funds so that we can help these families that need this support So my message to you today is just to say thank you very much for all the support you’ve given us over the last six to seven years and we’re asking you to help us on our Daffodil Day. Which is taking place on the 22nd of March. Buy a pin, do something in your community.
